Apparently, I had some books due on Monday, but I didn't realize it until Wednesday.
I renewed them, but the damage was done.
The fine is 25 cents per day per item, and $2.00 per day for DVDs.
I had about 27 items overdue.
The total fine: $32.50.
Why do I give this such attention?
I just received a billing statement from the library, stating that my borrowing priviledges have been suspended until I pay my fines...and if I don't pay within 14 days, I will be turned over to a collection agency who will "assess additional fines and penalties"
I knew it would happen someday. The public library has put a hit out on me.
Fortunately, I get paid tomorrow, so I'll take care of this, but still, it's money I would have rather spent on other things.
