This is the sort of day that Kat and I would jump in the car and take a road trip. Didn't matter where we went or how we got there, it was just a way for us to get out of the house and spend time together. No TV, no pets (usually), no distractions, just her and I exploring.
Kat's not here anymore, and I'm actually feeling kind of down. I don't have anyone to share the day with. There's a big part of me that just wants to plop my ass down in front of the TV and vegetate.
I'm going to get in the car, and I'm gonna start driving, and I'm not gonna stop until I'm in a different area code. Don't know where I'm going, don't know what I'm doing, I just need to get out of here before I crack open a bottle of gin and start drinking deep.
UPDATE: At 5:00, I found myself in Bloomington, driving through the Indiana University campus, looking for a particular coffee house. I didn't find it, but I did come across the Scholars' Inn Bakehouse, a pretty well-known coffee shop in Bloomington. I'll hang out here for a little bit, drink my double latte, then resume my wandering. By that point, I may start heading in a homeward-type direction.
