To some, it's one of the best comedies of all time. To others, it's merely the best Coen Brothers film* (yes, including "No Country for Old Men"). For still others, it's just an excuse to drink White Russians.
* - in my experience, "O Brother Where Art Thou" is the best Coen Brothers movie. If this one tops it, I will be very pleasantly surprised.
Whatever the case, expect a fun crowd at the Summer Nights screening of the film that made bowling hip again, provided Tara Reid with something respectable for her resume and offered not one but two unforgettable dream sequences.
I have to admit, as much as this movie is a cultural touchstone, I have never seen it. That won't stop me from having a good time and enjoying a few White Russians myself.
This would be a great place and time for an Indianapolis LJ meetup. If any of you are planning on going to the movie, let me know. I'll wear something distinctive (as if a six and a half foot tall guy with a shaved head and a goatee isn't distinctive enough) and maybe we could hang out together. I'll bring a little extra in my cooler just in case.
