After December 31, my computer access will be greatly scaled down.
I've been using a company computer for the past several years, but that ends once I officially leave my job. I will have a computer at home, but right now I'm not sure if I'm going to keep my DSL service, switch over to cable, or just drop it altogether. In any case, the home box is a desktop, not a laptop, so my days of idle surfing in the easy chair are over.
More likely, I will be using the public computers at the local library, which means I will only have intermittent computer access instead of constantly being online, and that will only be between the hours of 10am and 8pm.
There are other reasons for this reduced computer time, but that's not really something I want to discuss openly. Suffice to say, I've been STRONGLY encouraged to reduce my online time by someone whose authority comes from WAAAAY up (if you're clever, you'll figure it out).
Anyhow, this is only a temporary measure. This is NOT the same sort of withdrawal I attempted a few months ago; I want to be online, but circumstances beyond my control have dictated otherwise. Once the job situation works itself out, I'll have the means and the motivation to return to a more-or-less full time online presence. I'll still be able to respond to emails and journal entries, just not at 2am. If you need to reach me in a pinch, many of you have my cellphone or know someone who does.
