Then things started to turn around. I had a job interview on Thursday morning, and I worked my ass off getting ready for it. It must have worked, becuase on Friday, I got a phone message from someone I spoke with. They wanted me to call them over the weekend. When I did, they offered me the job. Details to follow, but I'll be making just as much as I was before I was laid off, in the building next to the one I was working in. I start March 1. I've told my current employer. I wasn't going to be working this week anyway, but I I wanted a day or so to finish any outstanding projects.
With a new job comes a new wardrobe. Between Friday and Saturday, Kat and I must've bought almost $400 in clothes. This was all on sale. If I paid full price, it would have easly been over $1500. Needed to make room for this latest purchases, so out with the old shirts, pants, t-shirts and stuff stuck in the back of the closet. Goodwill will be happy to see us.
Now I am getting ready to visit my new employer to get the formal Offer of Employment letter. They must be serious about hiring me; they asked me how I wanted my name spelled on my business cards. I have the week to myself to get ready for the new job, clean house, spend countless hours in the gym, and generally enjoy the fruits of my labors.
The clouds have parted, the sun is out, and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day.
