I have GOT to get a better fucking job.
I don't mind working in a tech support department. I like the challenges of solving customers' problems, I like getting down and dirty in the code, and I've learned a bit about how Windows and Web services work.
However, I did not sign up to be a cut-rate IT person. I've got four tickets on my list right now that I can't do a thing with because of stupid IT-related problems. A copy of the customer database is bad, so I need to rebuild it. Our reporting system requires a ton of tweaking, and no one, it seems, wants to do that on our test system.
The point is, I can't address the issue that the customer has raised because of bullshit that is completely unrelated to the customer's problem.
I just want to go back to a software design and development position, where I can focus on results and leave the minutae to others who have the training, experience, and patience to handle it.
