Well, I tried

After a fairly quiet evening, Kat and I went to bed around 9:30 (Kat was feeling pretty lousy, so an early bedtime seemed like a good idea). On the surface, this seemed like a good idea, and a great way for me to get a good night's rest and wake up bright an early in the morning.

I wanted to watch the rest of the season premiere of Scrubs, so that takes us to 10:00.

Then the evening news was on, so that brings us to 10:35.

Then some idle channel-surfing found Seinfeld on TBS. Show ends at 11:00.

Kat and I have become South Park junkies, and the local station was showing the first episode of the show from 1997 (back when they were still hand-pasted cardboard cutouts). The animation was really bad, but what do you expect for a first episode? That ended at 11:35.

Naturally, we wanted to see how far the animation has come, so we stayed up and watched another episode from 2003 or so. We finally turned off the TV at midnight, a full two and a half hours later than we planned.

Somewhere around 1:00 or so, my snoring must have gotten pretty bad, and Kat asked me to sleep on the floor.

The alarm clock when off at 7:00. I promptly ignored it, and finally got up around 7:30.

2006 is feeling a lot like 2005.
