The woman he describes doesn't sound bad (35, not unattractive (as he puts it, "on the right side of the 1 to 10 scale"), has a good job, Catholic) and apparently she likes tall men. She's tried the dating services and whatnot, without much luck.
I'm sure he means well, but there are a few obscacles.
First off, I'M STILL MARRIED (at least in the eyes of the Church). I wouldn't even consider having a cup of coffee with anyone until the annulment is approved.
Second, I'M STILL LIVING WITH MY EX-WIFE. This is a double-edged sword. It would be kind of awkward, not to mention pretty frickin' odd, to explain that to someone. Still, Kat is my best friend, and if I ever was to date anyone, I would value her opinion.
Finally, and this is the most important, I'M NOT INTERESTED. If the past eight months has taught me nothing else, it is that I simply am not cut out to be romatically involved with anyone. I have other things in my life (work, church) and I really don't want to play the dating game.
Maybe in a few years, I would entertain the idea of going out socially with someone, but I honestly think that I will remain single and celibate for the rest of my life.
